A RICA verification can fail for a number of reasons. Most are easy to fix.
Common reasons #
- No match — the details captured do not match the records held by the verifying source.
- Data entry errors — a spelling mistake, wrong ID number or incorrect date of birth.
- Address mismatch — the address provided does not match what is on record.
- Deceased flag — the identity has been flagged as belonging to a deceased person (this can also be a data error).
What to do #
- Check your details against your ID document and correct any errors.
- Re-submit with accurate, complete information.
- If the problem persists, ask your provider to review the record or escalate it for manual review.
Your provider should guide you on the exact next step. Never share your ID details with anyone who is not an authorised agent.
